Passport

What is it?

Freshman, transfer students, and Oxford continuees are automatically enrolled in this membership program. Membership is $10 for all other students. The membership entitles students to free tickets to most Emory arts events.

Can I win prizes?

YES! As an incentive to participate, there will be three prize drawings during the academic year. Winners will be the students who attended the most events in fall semester, in spring semester, and all year.

How can I join?

Freshman, transfer students, and Oxford continuees will automatically be enrolled for FREE! All other students can join by visiting the Arts at Emory Box Office (Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., outside Emerson Concert Hall, ground level, Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, next to the Goizueta Business School) and purchase a membership for only $10!

The main thing to know is that your Emory ID or Driver's License is all you need to show the Box Office to verify your Emory Arts Passport membership.

How do I find out about events?

You can search the events calendar on www.arts.emory.edu or join the "Passport" conference on Learnlink for weekly event announcements. To find the Passport conference go to "Public Conferences" on your desktop, click on "Arts at Emory," and on the left hand side you will see the "Passport" conference. Add it to your desktop so you never miss an important announcement!

Can I use the Passport for my PACE requirements?

Yes! Students can attend any ticketed or non-ticketed events to satisfy their PACE requirements of two arts events per semester. For a complete list of arts events visit www.arts.emory.edu. Non-ticketed events are free, and students can use their passport membership to obtain a free ticket to ticketed events. Ticketed event highlights include (programs and artists subject to change):

How do I get free admission to ticketed events?

Most events are free for Emory students and don't require a ticket or reservation.

In cases that do require a ticket such as the Candler Concert Series, Theater Emory, and Emory Dance, students can either reserve a ticket in advance, or within an hour of show time.

To avoid a sold-out situation you can reserve your ticket in advance by:

  • Calling the Arts at Emory Box Office at (404)727-5050
  • Visiting the Box Office (Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., outside Emerson Concert Hall, ground level, Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, next to the Goizueta Business School)

Then simply present your Driver's License or student ID (if over the phone or by e-mail have student ID number ready) and reserve your ticket. You are allowed one free ticket per event for your own use (tickets are not transferable). Once the ticket reservation has been made you must obtain your ticket at the particular venue's Box Office Will Call at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. Call 404.727.5050 to release your tickets if plans change; any tickets not claimed within 15 minutes of the show will be released.

To obtain a ticket within an hour of show time you can show up at the particular venue's Box Office, show ID or License, and be issued ticket if available.

What if I want to go to an event with someone who isn't a Passport member?

You can attend any event with someone who isn't a Passport member (they must purchase their own ticket separately), but for events with assigned seats there is no guarantee that you can sit together unless you reserve your tickets at the same time. For events with open seating, it is on a first-come first-serve basis.

But why not just tell your friend to be a Passport member!

The Emory Arts Passport Program facilitates greater participation in cultural arts events. It offers students opportunities to see performances free of charge or at a discount as well as incentives to immerse themselves in presentations by the Michael C. Carlos Museum, Theater Emory; Creative Writing, Dance, and Visual Arts Programs; Film Studies, Music, Theater Studies Departments, as well as a few non-Emory art venues.

To find out more about participating or about how your event could be included in an upcoming passport please contact us at creativity@emory.edu or 404-712-9894.
